Magic RandomWhere randomizer data lives and what users can control
Magic Random keeps core randomizer data in the browser instead of requiring an account and uploading names to the site's database. This reduces data transmission, but it does not make a device risk-free. Users should still understand deletion, backup limits, and external services that operate separately from randomizer lists.

1. localStorage belongs to the browser on the device
When a list is created, Magic Random saves its title, choices, settings, and result history in this site's localStorage inside the current browser profile. The Magic Random server does not receive that list content. Returning with the same browser and profile restores it without a login.
Private browsing, another browser, a different profile, or another phone uses separate storage and will not automatically show the same lists. Magic Random does not currently provide accounts or cross-device synchronization.
2. Local data can be lost and is not a permanent backup
Lists may disappear when site data is cleared, the browser automatically removes storage, the web app is uninstalled, or an extension manages storage. Do not keep the only copy of important data in a randomizer or treat its history as a permanent audit record.
Keep an appropriate source file or official result record when the list matters, especially for education, prize activities, or information subject to an organization's retention rules.
3. Feedback is a separate server-submitted feature
The Feedback page asks for a name, email, category, and message so the operator can review and follow up on improvements. That data is transmitted only when the user submits it and is stored in a database. Email addresses are not displayed with public comments; purposes and deletion rights are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Do not place participant lists, passwords, health information, or financial data in feedback. To report a problem, describe the steps, approximate browser version, and visible error while removing personal information.
4. Ads, analytics, and reCAPTCHA are consent-controlled
Google services are separate from the localStorage used for randomizer lists. The site loads advertising, analytics, and reCAPTCHA scripts after the user accepts the privacy prompt. Those services may process technical data such as IP address, device identifiers, and usage under Google's policies, but Magic Random analytics events do not include list titles, choices, prizes, or draw results.
Users can delete one list, clear all Magic Random data in Settings, or clear site data in the browser. Clearing localStorage does not remove feedback that was previously submitted, so contact the operator through the Privacy Policy to exercise rights over that data.
